Bri is a 25-year-old born and raised in the swamps of Jersey. Just kidding, she lives at least twenty minutes from those swamps. She’s a publishing professional that moonlights as a writer. She enjoys going to concerts (anything from Rooney to Springsteen to NKOTBSB), roadtripping, and complaining that she truly belongs in the 1950’s, the 1920′s, or the 1980′s depending on her mood. She definitely owns more books than she should and reads every chance she gets. If you stop hearing from her, it’s because the book piles have fallen over and smothered her to death in the night. From the Record Crate: Neon Trees – “Habits” (2010)

The pop music scene had a bit of a…shall we say, unique edge to it in 2010. Themes of partying and hooking up were strong, and the metaphors were wild–everything from cannibalism to G6s had its moment, for better or…

Album Review: Louis Tomlinson tackles Britpop and his personal life on “Walls”

Following the announcement of an extended hiatus for international boy band sensation One Direction in 2015, eyes were understandably on all of its members to see where their solo projects would take them. Some, like the first-to-depart Zayn Malik, rushed…

Album Review: Tegan and Sara – “Hey I’m Just Like You”

You could say that Canadian indie-pop duo Tegan and Sara have gone back to their roots for their latest studio album. While going through things while working on their dual memoir High School, the twins found cassette tapes full of…

Album Review: Lana Del Rey – Normal Fucking Rockwell!

Known for her signature melancholy and retro-inspired sound, Lana Del Rey consistently releases sweeping, cinematic “sadcore” albums that poeticize the darker side of romance, the glamorous aspects of the past, and tragedy. Her latest, Norman Fucking Rockwell!, is no exception…
