Featured Film Movie News News — 21 February 2012

I will admit that I have given up on Glee (It started out as an excellent show! But this season is just not good.), however my favorite character on the show had always been Kurt, played by Chris Colfer. I was very intrigued when I heard that Colfer had many writing projects on his hands. Struck by Lightning is one of them, and not only did he write the script, he also stars in the film. Watch the trailer below:

The trailer pretty much gives the whole story away. That is sort of justified by the fact that audiences would need extra convincing to want to see a film like this. I know I did. I love indie films, and seemingly low production value never deterred me before. Yet, if that trailer didn’t have half of what it showed, I can’t say I would’ve cared for it. Colfer is definitely playing a character totally different than Glee’s Kurt, and he looks like he’s pulling it off. Plus, it helps that the film has a pretty likable supporting cast that includes Allison Janney, Rebel Wilson, Dermot Mulroney, Sarah Hyland and Christina Hendricks. I’m curious to see more for it; the film is planned to hit theaters sometime this year.

What’s your first impression of Struck by Lightning?
