Halo 4 is undoubtedly going to make a big splash in retailers this holiday season. Coupled with the game’s release, new developer 343 Industries has put together a live action digital series entitled ‘Forward Unto Dawn’ in order to showcase the new storyline. Machinima’s YouTube channel, Machinima Prime, is covering the series as it releases. They state, “‘Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn’ is a live-action digital series that takes fans back to the terrifying beginning of the Human/Covenant war, when the Master Chief inspired a young cadet who would eventually become a leader aboard the UNSC’s greatest vessel: the UNSC Infinity.”

I’m not sure exactly what the budget is for the series, but this might be the closest thing to a Halo film that fans get, especially after the continuous downfall of the official Halo film adaptation. 343 Industries is clearly giving it everything they’ve got and I can’t wait to check out the full game, along with the rest of the digital series. Halo 4 hits shelves this fall on November 6th with the first episode of the series coming out earlier on October 5th. Check out the trailer below.
