Left: Ramirez; Right: Shannon

We know Henry Cavill will be Clark Kent/ Superman, and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner are to play the Kents. But who will be the villain in Zack Snyder’s Superman: Man of Steel? Both Edgar Ramirez and Michael Shannon are rumored to be eyeing the role. It’s also rumored that the villain will be General Zod.

Nothing has been confirmed or denied. At this point, this is all purely speculation. Both Ramirez and Shannon have great acting credentials and acclaim. I’m excited to see either of these actors face Cavill’s Superman. Michael Shannon was nominated for an Oscar for his role in 2008′s Revolutionary Road. Edgar Ramirez received much praise for acting the lead role in the Golden Globe winning mini-series Carlos.
