The Halo community is buzzing with anticipation as the 4th numbered installment is set to release in just a few short weeks. Debuting last night on Jimmy Fallon, we were treated to a brand new Halo 4 live action trailer entitled ‘Scanned’. The trailer was produced by David Fincher, director of both Fight Club and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and directed by visual effects artist Tim Miller, also of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

The trailer gives us a flashback into the life of John, better known as Master Chief. It depicts his childhood as well as showing his abduction into the spartan program under the UNSC. It later reveals some of the immediate events leading up to his capture by members of the Forerunner race, to which we owe the pleasure of Chief’s mind being scanned. It’s a gorgeous trailer, which sparks a small hope somewhere deep down inside of me that a feature length Halo film might someday become a reality. Halo 4 hits shelves later this fall on November 6th.
