Concert Reviews Featured Music Review — 30 March 2011

Let me begin this post by saying: IT WAS A MIRACLE THAT I ACTUALLY ATTENDED ULTRA THIS YEAR.
Further explanation: since it was sold out before I could get my hands on $300 for the 3 day passes, I was pretty much DONE with going to Ultra, all my hopes lost. Then, my brother tells me that his friend gave him a free Sunday pass and I’m like “OH HELL NO, I HAVE TO GO NOW!”. I contact my other friend who sells me his ticket and BAM!, that’s how TYF got into Ultra this year. I apologize before hand about the quality of my videos, I recorded all of them with my Blackberry. I didn’t even take a camera because it was such a short time notice decision, I pretty much left with what I had in my pockets.

some thoughts:

- The new location for Main Stage was great! I think that this time around more people could fit in the space given without being all cramped together, in comparison to last year, where even if you were in the back there was NO SPACE to walk by to buy a drink or anything. Overall, the whole set up was good. I saw some healthy choices with fruit salads at the food areas! (surprised about this  LOL)
- Even though, Ultra is all ages, I think there should be an age minimum.  Maybe 16 and over? I don’t know. *raises hands* I just feel like Ultra isn’t the type of environment for younger audiences around 13 and so. If you notice all other electronic music festivals have at least an 18+. But since this is Ultra’s 12th year and all I doubt they’ll change it.
-  I’m happy that next year’s Ultra (13th & 14th) will be returning to the beach!

And yeah, by my short stay on Sunday I had a chance to see Laidback Luke, Steve Aoki, Garrett Emery, Will.I.Am, Erick Morillo, Crystal Castles, David Guetta and The Chemical Brothers. Unfortunately, my phone died before Guetta’s performance :( anyways, here are some videos of the event.

Will I go next year to Ultra? YES!! It will be my 5th year in a row! AND YOU SHOULD COME TOO!
