Author of the acclaimed ‘Game of Thrones’ books, George R.R.Martin, has confirmed that Season 3 of HBO’s adaptation of the books will cover half of ‘A Storm of Swords’. The book was already split into two volumes when it was published in the UK and Australia so the 3rd season will undoubtedly keep to the first volume which was entitled ‘A Storm of Swords: Steel and Snow’. Without giving away any spoilers the 3rd and 4th seasons will be the ones to keep your eye on because they offer some of the most shocking twists of the series.
George R.R. Martin had this to say on his blog:
“Yes, it’s official. HBO has ordered a third season of GAME OF THRONES. Like the first two seasons, it will be ten episodes long. This one will cover (roughly) the first half or thereabouts of A STORM OF SWORDS, the third novel in the series. I’ll be writing the seventh episode, with the working title “Autumn Storms.”‘
This is exciting news! Having read the books I hope that these ten episodes include a particularly gruesome event known as the ‘Red Wedding’ but we’ll just have to wait and see! (At least for the rest of the episode titles anyway.)
Do you think they should have made Season 3 from both parts of A Storm of Swords? Let us know your thoughts!
