The great gala approaches! And yet, our heroes still have loose ends that need tying up before they can depart on the next branch of their adventure.
Most pressing is Alexandrus’s mission to take down the rogue Revenant, Felix Thorncutter – an undead killer with several chips on his rotting shoulder. Though they’ve tangled before, Alexandrus has never faced his rival with his allies, and so conscripts the aid of Merit and Karnov to help take Felix down. The only complication being a flying demon showing up to also try and murder everything. And the name “Demogorgon” getting tossed around at some point.
Meanwhile, Ori is briefly taken to another dimension to speak more with the mysterious and powerful Lady Zeitalia. Over a cup of exquisite tea, she informs the dragonborn monk that the party is now irreversibly entwined with the greater fate of the city and the struggle against Nakresh. Before reuniting him with Alexandrus, Merit, and Karnov, Zeitalia tells Ori to seek out 3 Swords of Dead Kings, 3 Contracts of Mighty Devils, and 3 Curses of Forgotten Gods. These ominous nine things can help turn the tide against the tiger king.
After all that, the party gathers as much information about the Clockwork Castle as possible before they enter it. Flint has a rude awakening from Alvyn and learns a bit more about security measures and their target for the heist. Then the party enters the castle under the guise of music rehearsals, allowing them to see the grandiosity and the confusion that lies within the house of the lord of the gnomes. Not to mention meeting the leader’s assistant mayor, Figgle, who is totally not the assistant mayor from Zootopia.
And now? They’re finally ready for the mission they’ve been preparing for!
