Book News: Richelle Mead’s Bloodlines #4 Gets a Title & New POV!

I’m pretty big fan of Richelle Mead and her Vampire Academy series and its spin-off series, Bloodlines. If you haven’t read her books yet, I don’t even know what to say to you frankly. Just go and do it!

Anyway, for fans of the Bloodlines series, Mead announced some exciting news today, which is also her birthday (Happy Birthday, Richelle!). Bloodlines #4 now has a title: The Fiery Heart. Mead says the title will make more sense after we read the third book, The Indigo Spell, which doesn’t come out until February 2013.

But the REALLY exciting news is this:

The Fiery Heart is going to be told from both Sydney and Adrian’s points of view. That’s right. If you’ve ever wanted to get inside the crazy world of Adrian Ivashkov’s head, this is it. It’ll still be in first person, but the POV will alternate chapters. I’m so excited about this, it’s not even funny. Well, actually…since it’s Adrian, it’ll be hilarious. I think you guys’ll love it, and for those who still haven’t made the transition to the Bloodlines series, now’s your chance! #1 and #2 are out, and it’s not too late to catch up before February.

Did you read that? ADRIAN POV. Let me go die now. No, but really, this is such exciting and refreshing news for this series. I loved The Golden Lily and can’t wait for The Indigo Spell. I wonder what events happen in Indigo that would deem it necessary for Mr. Ivashkov’s POV. But I figure it must be something big and maybe meaning a separation between Sydney and Adrian. (Say it ain’t so!) As for the title, The Fiery Heart definitely pulls at the heartstrings even though I have no idea of what to expect. I definitely am expecting it to have a double meaning, both magical and romantic. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see. Knowing all this makes the wait more unbearable though!
