The long awaited news has finally come!

Author Deborah Harkness announced new details about the final book in her All Souls Trilogy on Facebook this week. The Book of Life will release on July 15, 2015 in the U.S., U.K., Canada and Ireland in various formats including hardcover and audiobook.

If you haven’t read or heard about A Discovery of Witches and its sequel, Shadow of Night, you may want to skip reading the description for The Book of Life below. Otherwise, you risk being kind of spoiled.

“After traveling through time in Shadow of Night, the second book in Deborah Harkness’s enchanting series, historian and witch Diana Bishop and vampire scientist Matthew Clairmont return to the present to face new crises and old enemies. At Matthew’s ancestral home at Sept-Tours, they reunite with the cast of characters from A Discovery of Witches—with one significant exception. But the real threat to their future has yet to be revealed, and when it is, the search for Ashmole 782 and its missing pages takes on even more urgency. In the trilogy’s final volume, Harkness deepens her themes of power and passion, family and caring, past deeds and their present consequences. In ancestral homes and university laboratories, using ancient knowledge and modern science, from the hills of the Auvergne to the palaces of Venice and beyond, the couple at last learn what the witches discovered so many centuries ago.”

This has me so excited! I’m totally enamored with the All Souls Trilogy. Its mix of history, romance and fantasy is so rich in detail. It’s truly an epic tale, and I can’t wait to see how it all ends for Diana and Matthew.

The cover is still on its way, as well as tour dates and release dates for foreign language editions. You’ve got quite a bit of time until the final book comes out on July 15th, so if you haven’t begun this sweeping adventure of witches, vampires and more, get on it! The Book of Life is now available to pre-order.
