Cover Reveal: ‘The Book of Life’ by Deborah Harkness + An Excerpt!

If you took a look at my lists for Most Anticipated of both 2013 and 2014, you know how excited I am for the final book in the All Souls Trilogy. Just a couple months ago, we learned the title and release date of The Book Of Life, and this morning, USA Today revealed the cover and an short excerpt from the Deborah Harkness’ upcoming book!

I wasn’t expecting this cover to be so… green. While it’s not as pretty as the covers of the first two books in the trilogy, it’s just as interesting. One of my favorite things about these covers was connecting what I read in the book to the symbols on the cover. No doubt I’ll be doing the same thing when I get The Book of Life in my hands.

The publisher teases us with this little blurb:

“In ancestral homes and university laboratories, using ancient knowledge and modern science, from the hills of the Auvergne to the palaces of Venice and beyond, the couple at last learn what the witches discovered so many centuries ago.”

You can read the short excerpt below, which includes SPOILERS if you haven’t read this series yet.

That excerpt has me INSANELY excited. I can barely hold myself together with what the short tidbit reveals. I can’t wait to see what Harkness has in store for Diana, Matthew and company. It’s sure to be emotional and magical thrill ride.

The Book of Life hits shelves July 15th!

What do you think of the cover and excerpt?
