Uppercase Box, a young adult book subscription service, sent me their November box last week. I was excited to receive it because I love subscription boxes and YA books. Here is what greeted me in the mail:
I think one thing I have to point out is that Uppercase Box doesn’t come in a box. It’s really a trivial thing, since everything arrives nicely packaged in the woven bag with the Uppercase logo.
November’s book pick is Ryan Graudin’s Wolf by Wolf, a dystopian thriller that puts a twist on history. The story takes place in a world where the Axis Powers won World War II. I haven’t had a chance to finish the book yet, but the concept is definitely interesting (and goes well with Amazon’s newly released original show, The Man in the High Castle).
In addition to the novel, the signed Ryan Graudin sticker, cute mini notebook, Certified Book Addict keychain, and Oscar Wilde print by Risa Rodil are all nice touches. The last two on the list are Uppercase exclusives.
After receiving my first Uppercase box, I can tell that the book pick is well-chosen–something greatly appreciated. I especially enjoy the “enhanced” reading experience. There are post-its throughout different places in the novel that direct you to web addresses for relevant special features. However, the extra goodies are nice, but personally, not things I really need. They’re cute, little knick-knacks, but I’m not sure what to do with them.

Uppercase is worth it for the interesting book and enhanced reading experience each month. If you love extra goodies, then it’s a definite must-buy for your book-loving self.

They offer three options: Expert, Personalized and Book Exclusive box. The Expert box is $23 a month and includes a recently published YA book they think everyone will enjoy. The Personalized box is $29 a month and they pick a book based on the subscribers personal tastes. The Book Exclusive box is $17 a month offers the same book content and publisher-provided goodies as the Expert box, just without the bookish item.
