Introduce yourself and your book
Hello, I’m K.L. Horvath, I happen to love the craft of world building with my words and creating interesting characters. I’m also the author of The Undays of Aralias Lyons. If you love witty time travelers, Iron dragons and the Victorian era, I’d give it a whirl.

What kinds of readers will love The Undays of Aralias Lyons?
People who loved Entwined by Heather Dixon, Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones and The Bell at Sealey Head by Patricia Mckillip will love The Undays of Aralias Lyons. Each of these books has a deep sense of wonderment, humor and adventure.

What initially inspired you to start writing?
I have always loved writing, as a child I wrote poems in crayon to my grandmother. But the idea of becoming an actual author didn’t wind deep down into my heart until after I read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis in ninth grade. I was fascinated by the idea of how a wonderful book can impact a person so deeply by someone that they’ve never met. It felt transcendent to me and I wanted to write a book that would move another person I’d never seen before just as that book had moved me.

What advice would you give to other potential writers?
Write what you love, read a lot and never, never give up.

Tell us something about yourself completely unrelated to books!
I used to dabble in painting with acrylics. I have a painting of a large blue tiger hanging in my office at home.

Don’t miss K.L. Horvath’s compelling time travel fantasy with talking beasts, iron monsters, otherworldly creatures and a desperate father!

For centuries the great Houses of Time have watched over the mythical creatures, those who manipulate the past for their own ends and humankind. But now the houses have dwindled and few are left who remember the mandates. One, in fact, is determined to put the world in its proper place—beneath his rule.
To do that, he’s kidnapped Jack Lyons, the youngest of the Time Travelers. To get him back and defeat Bliss, Lord Aralias Lyons, Jack’s father, will do anything he has to. He’ll fight wicked spiders, an army of clockwork men, let his son suffer and manipulate time itself in order to right what Bliss has put wrong. He’ll even allow the innocent Miss Clara Heartwell to discover more about the Travelers than most mortals know.
