Dragon Age: Inquisition (PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, X 360)

Bioware returns to Dragon Age with the third installment in the series and the first since 2009. Inquisition is an open world RPG fantasy game complete with dragons, elves, dwarves and spellcasters, where the player can lead a party of varying races and classes and explore a world as vast as maybe even Skyrim was. Combine with a large, beautifully designed open world with RPG masters at Bioware (the people responsible for Mass Effect and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic), and as a result, it can be expected that players will be able to achieve their own consequential story decisions, character creation and even potential romance. The game supports four player cooperative missions, and nearly 100 hours worth of things to accomplish in the world of Thedas.

Far Cry 4 (PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, X 360)

Like Far Cry 3 in 2012, Ubisoft delivers a well received formula of a stunning open world shooter to explore and blow stuff up in, except this time it’s in the Himalayas, and here there be elephants. The game’s story is simple, in that the player is a man returning to his homeland to bring his mother’s ashes to her final resting place when thing suddenly become complicated as you’re thrown into a rebellion trying to control the region of Kyrat. Mountains add verticality to the play style of Far Cry, where, as it was on Rock Island, you create your own path to your destination, making your journey itself the true story.

Little Big Planet 3 (PS3, PS4, PS Vita)

Sackboy returns in the third installment of the adorable, infinitely customizable plaftormer series by Sony Entertainment. The game will feature three new characters to join Sackboy on his journey throughout the world of Imagisphere: Oddsock, Swoop and Toggle. Little Big Planet is known for its hugely dedicated community of players who create incredible custom stages to share with friends and strangers throughout the world to play, and the game is going to import the community network so you can continue playing in the worlds you and your friends have created over the years, including the PlayStation 4 version!

Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

What is there to say about GTA? It’s GTA, and GTAV was simultaneously one of the fastest selling and most expensively made games in history. This is the very same game that, if you’re reading this list at all, I’m sure you’ve played, but this time Los Santos is as stunning as Rockstar could possibly make it, performing at optimum resolution and high frame rate on the PS4, Xbox One and the PC.
