Unreal Engine 4 Shows Off Next Gen Gaming

Epic Games is one of the biggest and boldest developers in the gaming industry. If not known for the popular franchise Gears of War, they are surely well respected for their long history with the Unreal Engine. As one of the most popular and influential game engines in the industry, Unreal technology has been used in countless projects, including all of the games in the Bioshock, Mass Effect, and Batman franchises. In development since way back in 2003, Unreal Engine 4 is the next giant step in graphics technology. Epic’s new engine is capable of meticulous detail which is shown off through realistic destruction and particle effects, as well as some very physics-heavy simulations like fluidity, lighting, and reflection. Watch the demo below entitled ‘Elemental’ to see just how exciting the next generation of gameplay will look using UE4.

Epic Games is all about using the latest and greatest technology to build tools that are easily accessibly to everyone. Taking that idea a step further, UE4 has a completely redesigned ‘Kismet’ system that allows nearly anyone to build or work on their own games. This expansive set of tools allows indie developers to bring their ideas to life without the need of advanced programming knowledge. Any game built using the new engine automatically gains access to all of the amazing new physics effects that other, big budget franchises will have as well.
