Top 10 Perfect Character Fighting Matches

fighting-game

We have seen plenty of fighting games over the years, from games that involve all-original characters with their own storylines behind the scenes, like Street Fighter, Tekken, and Soul Calibur, to the games where characters from multiple franchises just duke it out, like Super Smash Bros, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, and J-Stars Victory Versus Plus. Now, we have seen legendary battles between these characters, we have held tournaments of these fights, YouTube channels like Screwattack’s Death Battle has made some fights worth watching. However, there are some fights we have not seen yet. Fights that would be amazing to watch, fights we have thought of before, but never thought we could see. Well, now we have at least a glimpse into what those fights could be like.

I have chosen 20 characters, making it ten fights. Each character is analyzed, why these two will fight, and then I will give a prediction as to who will win. (NOTE: Before you all start throwing stuff at your screens, hitting dislike buttons, or writing negative, hurtful things on the comments section, my predictions are strictly my OPINION, that I will attempt to back up with facts, you do not need to agree with it!)

There are three rules I have in choosing my fighters, in case you wonder why I chose whom I did:

  1. The characters must, at any given time, have been in a video game.
  2. The characters cannot have been on the same fighting game or series, otherwise you would just go play that game.
  3. The characters cannot have already fought each other, either canonically, or on a web series like Death Battle.

So without further delay, there are 20 characters we would like to see fight in a fighting game, and click next to see our combatants.

10. Hulk (Marvel Comics) vs. Asura (Asura’s Wrath)

RAGEFEST!!!

Our Fighters: We all know the Incredible Hulk of Marvel Comics fame, and a few people even know Asura the Destructor of Asura’s Wrath.

Hulk has the kind of power that makes him the powerhouse of the Marvel universe. He has been known to go toe-to-toe with Thor, the Juggernaut, a majority of Marvel’s superheroes, and has accomplished great feats, such as breaking the space-time continuum in a single punch, literally scaring Thanos out of fighting him, lifting a 150 billion ton mountain by himself, and leaping to the top of Mount Olympus in a single bound, getting constantly stronger with rage. However he must have an appropriate amount of adrenaline and rage to remain the Hulk.

Asura is a demigod with power to match. Asura has annihilated other demigods, killed a demigod who was the size of a large planet, survived losing his arms multiple times, a direct blast from a doomsday weapon, impalement by a sword that pierced through the Earth itself, killed the very god who created his universe, and has even taken on Street Fighter’s Ryu and Akuma, also becoming stronger with rage, almost to the point where it could kill him if he has too much rage.

Why are they Fighting: Both combatants get stronger with rage and smash any opponent in their path. This is bound to be an epic battle! A battle I have been looking forward to for a long time!

READY…FIGHT!

Predicted Winner: As awesome as this fight would be, the winner, ultimately, would be Asura. Both fighters have multiple accomplishments and a rage that knows no bounds, but the fight is ultimately decided by endurance. Hulk may have limitless stamina but that is entirely dependent upon his rage. Bruce Banner basically requires adrenaline to become Hulk, and while he is the Hulk, ultimately, he must turn back into Banner at some point. While Asura’s rage may end up killing him, Asura can return from the dead, as he has done multiple times before, not to mention the fact that Asura has been trained in combat, while Hulk has no formal training to speak of. In the end, Hulk’s powers have more requirements to be utilized, while Asura can outlast and overpower Hulk at any given point.

9. Juliet Starling (Lollipop Chainsaw) vs. Frank West (Dead Rising)

From Battling the Dead, to Battling to the Death!

Our Fighters: Juliet Starling, high school senior, cheerleading captain, and zombie hunter. Wielding a bedazzled chainsaw, she protects her town and combats the undead alongside her boyfriend, Nick’s decapitated head (it’s complicated). Her list of accomplishments include defeating five zombie overlords, being fast and strong enough to use a chainsaw to block machine gun fire, take lightning bolts head on, being able to perform a magic ritual to reanimate Nick’s head, and defeating a giant monster-sized zombie, by slicing off it’s limbs. Although she is still a high school student and has the emotional maturity as such, and notably isn’t too bright. She is also still vulnerable to zombie attacks, just like any other human being.

2-4-6-8! Who does she annihilate!

Frank West is a photojournalist (He’s covered wars, you know!) who covered the original zombie outbreak in Willamette, Colorado. Frank has quite the impressive list of feats to his name, including, taking down 53,594 zombies, stopping a terrorist from infecting America, fighting off U.S. Special Forces, defeating insane normal humans, and continuing to fight even though he has been infected by a zombie virus, and has been taking punishment throughout the game. The best part however, he did all of this within three to four days! The notable weaknesses Frank has is that he is still just a normal human being, still vulnerable to the same things any person is. He also requires a special medication to stop himself from going full zombie.

He’s covered wars, and is ready for war!

Why are they Fighting: Both Juliet and Frank may be the best at combating the undead, but now they need to prove they can combat each other to prove who’s the best!

Predicted Winner: Frank West will win this battle. Both fighters are adept at combat, trained or improvised, but it ultimately will come down to experience. Juliet may have the power and reflexes to block machine gun fire and tank lightning, but Frank’s improvised combat, and assortment of weapons gives him an edge. Juliet may have defeated a number of zombies, but a majority of the time, she required help from Nick, or her family to take down the zombies. Frank, meanwhile, handled the entire crisis by himself or with very little help. Both fighters may have handled the problems in similar timeframes, but given the amount of what they went through, Frank went through more difficult trials. Also, Juliet’s main weapon, her bedazzled chainsaw may be powerful, but Frank has experience using and combating chainsaws from fighting Axel the Clown.

8. Dante (Devil May Cry) vs. Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII)

Always Keeping it Stylish!

Our Fighters: Dante is a devil hunter who runs an agency named “Devil May Cry” who has the habit of fighting with a variety of weapons, including the twin guns Ebony and Ivory and the broadsword Rebellion, among many others. Dante’s many accomplishments over the course of the Devil May Cry series include defeating a multitude of demons, annihilating monsters with potential to cause apocalyptic events, survived being impaled by his own sword multiple times, fought toe-to-toe with his own brother, even survived in an environment that has actively tried to kill him, all while being stylish. Dante has healed from all these wounds with near-instant regeneration. On top of having blinding speed, and a demonic form called Devil Trigger, Dante is quite a formidable fighter. However, Dante does not fight defensively, as his healing causes him to not think about defensive maneuvers, which leaves him open to attack.

It’s a whole lot of swords… (Insert FFVII victory fanfare here)

Cloud Strife is part of Shinra’s “SOLDIER” program, which infuses fighters with alien cells and magical power to increase their strength. Cloud is the most iconic of the Final Fantasy series, going into battle wielding the Buster Sword, a large broadsword five to six feet long and one foot wide, and the Fusion Swords, a similarly large blade made up of six different swords which can be combined and separated at will. Cloud also utilizes Materia, the source of magic in Final Fantasy VII, to use a variety of magics and summons to aid him in battle. Cloud has done plenty of noteworthy things throughout his life, including defeating Shinra’s “Weapon” projects, helping to destroy a Mako Reactor, which is basically the equivalent of blowing up a nuclear power plant, being strong and fast enough to block bullets with a giant sword, take down giant monsters, slice through solid steel in one swing, kill Jenova, the alien calamity which gave him his enhanced strength, and fight and defeat Sephiroth single handedly. Cloud does have some notable weaknesses though, since he is infected with Jenova cells, he is vulnerable to anything that could interfere with them. Cloud is also built like a tank, but also moves like a tank, his speed is his lowest stat, so he is easily outmaneuvered.

Why are they Fighting: Both Dante and Cloud are powerful and use a large amount of weapons, a battle between these two would be a fight that would be worth its own movie!

Oh come on… you have to admit this would be a badass fight!

Predicted Winner: Dante is the shoe-in for this fight. Both fighters are fast and strong, and Cloud’s reflexes make Dante’s guns a moot point, but Dante has instant regeneration and mystical power to back up his skills, while Cloud can only rely on whatever Materia he has on hand, Dante also can take out whatever summons Cloud brings out, being a demon hunter by trade. Dante has also faced much faster opponents before and won, so therefore, there’s no doubt that Dante can out maneuver Cloud.

7. Batman (DC Comics) vs. Moon Knight (Marvel Comics)

Our Fighters: I’m sure by now we all know Batman’s backstory: rich boy loses his parents to crime, trains to fight that crime, dresses like a bat, becomes one of the most iconic superheroes ever. But the Batman has plenty of accomplishments that you all may or may not know about. Batman has done things no normal man should ever be able to do, such as sneaking up and hiding from Superman, being able to pick the locks at Fort Knox with a ballpoint pen, having the willpower to operate a Green Lantern ring, instilling so much fear that he was eligible to be inducted to the Sinestro Corps, bench press one ton, punch a S.W.A.T. officer through a brick wall, hold his breath for three minutes and 15 seconds, survive in the vacuum of space for 27 seconds, and is known as one of the greatest tacticians and strategists in the DC Universe. With his massive assortment of equipment such as “batatrangs”, the Batmobile, and a suit and utility belt equipped for any situation, Batman can practically defeat anyone. He does however have some weaknesses, such as the fact that for all his feats, he is still just a basic human, and vulnerable to the same things as anyone as is, although with greater resistances. Batman is also very single-minded: His drive to protect Gotham has driven him to a point where he defends it by himself, which can wear him down with time.

He is vengeance, He is the night, He is BATMAN!

Moon Knight is basically Marvel’s version of Batman; Moon Knight was at first just a mercenary for hire named Marc Spector, until he encountered an ancient Egyptian god, Khonshu, who saved his life in exchange for his service. Spector agreed, and became the Moon Knight. At first he simply used mystic weapons granted by Khonshu, but after resurrections, and many adventures, he developed weaponry that mimicked other heroes, such as an energy shield from Captain America, web shooters from Spider-Man, and energy claws from Wolverine, as well as a flying drone for transport. Moon Knight has been a part of the Avengers for a time, as well as many other teams, and has most notably operated on his own, but is a force to be reckoned with either way. Moon Knight has some notable accomplishments throughout his career, such as dying and resurrecting twice, going toe-to-toe with the Sentry (Marvel’s version of Superman), helping fight off a pack of Wendigos, fighting the Punisher to a stand still, slicing a bullet in half with a crescent disc, and is able to manipulate his chi to heal himself. However, Moon Knight’s weaknesses are more notable than his DC Comics counterpart. Moon Knight’s physical strength and power is dependent upon the phases of the moon, being strongest at a full moon. As an avatar of Khonshu, Moon Knight’s mind is fractured into dissociative identity disorder, in order for Spector to cope with being an avatar of a god. As such, multiple personalities clash in his mind and he must struggle to keep it all together.

Look out for the Lunar Legionnaire!

Why are they Fighting: Both characters are essentially the same. Both crime fighters using their normal human skills, brains, and equipment to combat evil, now we can see which one is better!

Clash of the Caped Crusaders!

Predicted Winner: Isn’t it kind of obvious? Batman! Both fighters are capable of combating each other and with any prep time, could handle anything the other threw at them. Batman, however has a significant edge, with greater feats, a higher base strength, and a much more stable psyche. Moon Knight would have to balance his own personalities, as well as focus on the fight, which would hinder his effectiveness. Batman has prepared his mind to a point where an alternate personality manifests under specific conditions. Moon Knight is also dependent on the phases of the moon to be on top condition, while Batman has no such limitations. Batman also uses his equipment tactically, manipulating the environment and laying traps, while Moon Knight can only use his equipment the way his other personalities would use that weapon, so Batman has the advantage throughout the fight.

6. Son Goku (Dragonball series) vs. Akuma (Street Fighter)

NOW! FIGHT YOUR RIVAL!

Our Fighters: We all know Son Goku, or just Goku for the American fans, as the main character of the Dragonball series. Goku is an alien being that looks remarkably human, but he has more power than anyone else in the series. Goku has been proclaimed as one of the strongest fighters in the history of anime. With power to harness chi and a superhuman physique, he manages to surpass any limit he has. He has notably battled Superman on Death Battle twice, has produced enough power in his blasts to destroy a mountain, and indirectly destroy the moon. Goku can teleport instantaneously, increase his own power 50 times beyond what it is, can fuse with other fighters, and is notably pure of heart. Goku however has some notable weaknesses. For instance, he will not fight an unfair fight, and has been known to show an act of mercy for most villains he fights. Goku also can be killed in any conventional way, such as space, magma, and severe bodily injury. Also, Goku is actually quite dim, usually to a point where his enemies benefit from this.

Just Saiyan!

Akuma is one of the strongest canonical fighters of Street Fighter. He started as a secret boss character on Super Street Fighter II Turbo, but then became his own character; at first sharing a move set with Ryu and Ken, then gaining moves all on his own. Akuma is known as a bloodthirsty, combat-fueled martial artist who seeks the strongest fighters to one day have an ultimate battle to the death. To that end, Akuma has a great amount of power from the “Satsui no Hado” or “Surge of Murderous Intent”, this power, as well as constant training and fighting, has enabled Akuma to perform feats such as increasing his power dramatically, becoming “Oni, the Destroyer of Heaven”, killing an Asian Black Bear as a child, destroying an island in one punch, surviving underwater long enough to destroy a Navy submarine and battleship, Defeating and killing his master to prove his own mastery, destroying a meteorite in one punch, destroying a tree and killing a bird with his mere presence alone, enduring a volcanic eruption, jumping to the moon, and even ascending to heaven to kill God, and traveling to Hell to kill demons. But, for all of Akuma’s power he does have a moral code and weaknesses. Akuma will only battle those he deems worthy, and will not battle opponents with an unfair disadvantage. Akuma is also known to be a Glass Cannon; he can deal out damage but he cannot take it, so therefore his fighting style is focused on keeping in complete control of the fight.

The Master of the Fist… Whose fists know no equal!

Why are they Fighting: We have all seen the Goku vs. Superman fight. People have complained about the results of the fight, saying about how overpowered Superman is, or how unfair the fight is. Well now we’re pitting Goku against Akuma for a more even fight.

Predicted Winner: This is actually a pretty close fight. Goku has the durability advantage, but the fact that Akuma has no qualms about killing outright, and his fighting style would cause him to remain in control of the fight gives him an edge as well. Both have killed gods and destroyed large masses before. But ultimately, Goku isn’t too bright, and his tendency to show mercy to opponents leaves him open to attacks, and Akuma could take advantage of this, not showing the same mercy, as Goku is powerful enough for Akuma’s full strength. Given that Goku has killed before, he would be affected by Akuma’s Shun Goku Satsu (Instant Hell Murder), which would clinch the match. (Reminder for all of you diehard Goku fans: this is strictly my opinion, which I am attempting to back up with facts. You do not need to accept this opinion.)

5. Strider Hiryu (Strider series) vs. Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Assassin’s Creed series)

Our Fighters: Strider Hiryu, the protagonist of the Strider series, Hiryu is what every ninja should aspire to. Hiryu’s story revolves around his battle against the evil Grandmaster Meio, and taking down the Grandmaster’s evil empire. Hiryu is definitely prepared for anything, with his tonfa-like blade called Cypher, which is known to cut pretty much anything, a climb sickle which allows him to climb any wall, and a horde of robotic beasts to aid him in battle. Hiryu also has a great power set: being strong enough to slice through limbs with his bare hand, being fast enough to reach supersonic speeds, enough to out run machine gun fire, explosions, and aircraft cannon fire, being able to teleport, and being able to create afterimages that can attack opponents due to his high speeds. However, Hiryu’s weakness is that he’s a fragile speedster. He cannot take hits, so he relies on evasion.

He strides for success!

Ezio Auditore di Firenze, one of the protagonists of Assassin’s Creed, is known as the Mentor of the Italian Brotherhood of Assassins. Ezio lived a colorful life to say the least. Ezio had survived with his mother and sister when the Templar Order assassinated the rest of his family, since then he had learned the ways of the assassin, and spreading the ideas of free will and independence in Florence, Venice, and Rome during the Italian Renaissance. Ezio also has a rapport with significant figures of history, such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Christopher Columbus. Ezio has developed many skills as an assassin, such as being able to climb and leap off of tall buildings without injury, able to see with the sight of an eagle, being able to assassinate someone without being caught. Using his assortment of weapons, such as hidden blades and a hidden gun, a crossbow, smoke grenades, longswords, poison, and maces. Ezio however is still just a baseline human, with the same weaknesses, and in his old age, dies of a heart attack.

Hoods up!

Why are they Fighting: Both are assassins. They both are the best in their field, now it’s time to see who is better.

Predicted Winner: It’s pretty obvious here. Strider Hiryu has a significant advantage here with his superhuman power, Ezio’s equipment and parkour may give him a field advantage but that can only delay the inevitable. With Hiryu’s speed and robot beasts, that field advantage can easily be overcome, and while Ezio requires equipment to defeat opponents, and Hiryu can simply handle foes with his bare hands. Therefore, Hiryu wins this battle by a mile.

Nuff’ said…

4. Link (Legend of Zelda series) vs. Chrom (Fire Emblem: Awakening)

Time to Cross Blades!

Our Fighters: Link is a character that has truly withstood the test of time, and sometimes in a literal way. The story remains the same throughout the years: the goddesses choose Link, he must find the great Master Sword, and he save Princess Zelda and the kingdom of Hyrule from the evil Ganondorf. While there are some variations on how this is achieved, it still maintains the same epic prophecy. Link has had all this time to develop his arsenal of weapons and skills. Notably, the Master Sword, a blade that defeats evil creatures and manipulates magic. Other weapons Link uses involves the Hero’s Bow, the Gale Boomerang, the Clawshot, an assortment of bombs, and the Hylian Shield for defense. Link has had over 30 years of adventures to build his skills. Having saved Hyrule 17 times, he has perfected his sword skills to the point where he can create energy slashes, can snipe a target from a long distance, can throw charging beasts with his bare hands, and alter time with the appropriately named Ocarina of Time. Link has accomplished many things, but has some weaknesses, including being a lightweight, and can be knocked of his feet easily, and his energy slashes can only occur when he is at maximum health, Link is also very susceptible to magical attacks, and is in fact quite gullible.

The Hero of Hyrule heads into battle headfirst!

Chrom is the prince and Exalt of the halidom of Ylisse. He starts as a simple prince, who would spend his time sharpening his skills and defending the innocent, until he meets Robin (the game’s avatar) and progresses to defending his kingdom from other nations and even saving the world from the fell dragon, Grima. Battling aside his many comrades, including Robin, the avatar, and Lucina, Chrom’s daughter, Chrom has battled many armies and has emerged victorious. Chrom has battled against armies and kings of neighboring countries, has battled the demonic Risen, and killed the fell dragon Grima, with the aid of his comrades, and his trusty weapons. These weapons include Falchion, the Hero King Marth’s legendary sword which only Chrom and Lucina can use, being Marth’s descendants. Being a Lord class combatant, Chrom can use a wide variety of swords and lances, notably the Levin Sword, which deals magic attacks, and the Killing Edge, which deals high amounts of criticals. Chrom’s sword skills extend to being able to poke holes in brick walls while training, and learning the Aether skill, which only Lords can learn. Despite his arsenal and skills, Chrom does have weaknesses such as being a baseline human, and is still vulnerable to dying. Since Chrom is the commander of his army, he cannot die or else the game is lost. Chrom also has low resistance to magic, being affected by mage attacks. Finally, Chrom is dependent upon items to remain at full strength.

Chrom clashes with criminals!

Why are they Fighting: Link and Chrom are each heroes of a respective kingdom. They fought evil in their lands, but they never have had to fight someone similar to themselves, **(save for a couple times Link has faced a dark mirror copy of himself.)**

Predicted Winner: Link is the definite victor here. Link’s weapon arsenal has more variety and allows Link to control the flow of the fight easier. Link has notably saved Hyrule 17 times by himself. Chrom relies on his army for his battles and is not used to battling alone. Link is also used to strategizing on the fly, during the heat battle, Chrom needs a tactician or outside assistance to do the same. Link can also exploit Chrom’s weakness to magic with the Master Sword and energy blasts, and while Falchion is similar to the Master Sword, it ultimately is weaker, having the same strength stats as an iron sword. Any other weapons Chrom could use can easily be compensated for by Link’s arsenal. Finally, while both fighters are even in a matter of skills, Link has a way to mitigate damage entirely with the Hylian shield. Chrom must rely on items and has to break off attacks to use them, leaving him open to be attacked by Link.

3. Solid Snake (Metal Gear series) vs. Crimson Viper (Street Fighter series)

It’s Spy vs. Spy, now in color!

Our Fighters: Solid Snake is a member of FOXHOUND, and a covert operative who is known as “The Man who makes the Impossible Possible”. Solid Snake, or otherwise known as “David”, or “Snake” is a clone of the legendary soldier “Big Boss”. With his experience with the Green Berets, Special Forces, an IQ of 180, and being fluent in six languages. Snake’s adventures involve him defeating Metal Gears, giant bipedal nuclear tanks. Snake defeats these Metal Gears with a wide assortment of guns and explosives, and help from his tech buddy, Otacon. Once he’s rapidly aged by his FOXDIE virus, he is then equipped with a hand device called and the Solid Eye, which gives him enhanced vision for stealth. It allows him to see a Mach 20 projectile and see  infrared.Snake is also fluent in Close Quarters Combat, knife and gun combat, and can communicate with Otacon and teammates with the Codec. Being a covert operative, Snake has accomplished quite a lot in his missions, such as being able to absorb tons of force from a rail gun, lifting a military jeep, and literally punching his way out of a jail cell.  Snake has dodged a tank shell, survives a 300-foot fall from a Metal Gear, outswims it, and ran and swam for miles without running out of breath. Snake has also taken three slashes from a stun knife and remained ok (A single slash of a stun knife could incapacitate a typical soldier), and surviving five minutes in a microwave room (The amount of microwaves being emitted would vaporize a normal human on contact).

He’s also so great because NOBODY suspects the cardboard box

Snake’s weaknesses include PTSD, and some devices he uses can be jammed, Snake’s genetics cause him to rapidly age after the age of 40, which decreases his strength and agility.

It’s Showtime!

Crimson Viper, also known as “Maya” works for the CIA as a double agent for S.I.N. attempting to discover S.I.N.’s connection to Shadaloo, uncover data from the BLECE Project by S.I.N., and eliminate Seth, her boss in S.I.N. Viper has battled Chun-Li, Cammy White, M. Bison, and Seth. Eventually, Seth recognizes her as a CIA agent and Viper is forced to kill him. While much of her background is classified and surrounded in mystery, it is known she is a single mother to her daughter Lauren. Crimson Viper battles with the S.I.N. Battle Suit, which includes metal knuckles that can be electrically charged to fight with lightning attacks, sending shockwaves into the ground, and the boots of the suit hold jets she can use to fly and deliver fiery kicks. As an agent of the CIA, she has the training as such to be an agent, such as judo and krav maga. Viper does have plenty of weaknesses though; her win/loss record is spotty at best, with plenty of losses and few wins. She is also a rush down character: she requires close range combat to be effective; otherwise she is very limited in combat options at long range.

She’s the government agent we wish we had!

Why are they Fighting: Both fighters are secret agents and are very powerful in combat, so we’ll see which one wins in a no-holds barred fight

Predicted Winner: Solid Snake outclasses Crimson Viper in practically every way. From the better training, better feats, and better equipment, Snake dominates the fight. Even if Crimson Viper were to get in close range, Snake can tank most of her attacks, and dish out his own just as well.

2. Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece) vs. Super-Skrull (Marvel Comics)

This battle is going to get hot!

Our Fighters: Monkey D. Luffy is known as one of the “Big Three” of Shonen Jump and anime. Luffy is easily one of the most recognized characters in anime. His story is well known among the anime enthusiasts. Luffy is a man who dreams of becoming the Pirate King, and to that end has a motley crew he assembled to accomplish his dreams. Luffy is peculiar among other pirates because of his powers. After ingesting the Devil Fruit known as the Gum-Gum fruit, (or Gomu-Gomu no Mi for those who speak Japanese), Luffy’s body becomes like rubber, adopting the same properties as such, including elasticity and plasticity. This allows Luffy to become immune to bullets, clobbering with objects, and high resistance to punches and kicks. Luffy also has a large amount of combat prowess, he can predict his opponent’s moves, endure powerful attacks, deliver attacks to other Devil Fruit users directly bypassing their powers, and even intimidate weaker foes into fainting by glaring at them. With all this power, Luffy has accomplished much during his adventures. Luffy has battled other pirates with frightening powers, defeated corrupt Navy officers, declared war on the World Government, Single handedly changed the power structure of the Government and status quo with his actions, Survived lightning strikes, hundreds of poisons at once, and overpowering giants, defeating a robot in one hit, and tamed an entire island of beasts in two years. Luffy has a lot of deeds and power but his weaknesses are also numerous. Luffy’s powers make him vulnerable to blades, knives, sharp objects, and indirect attacks, such as fire, lava, sand, etc. The power of the Devil Fruit also robs Luffy of his ability to swim; contact with seawater weakens him substantially. Luffy is also vulnerable to hypnosis, and is pretty gullible; he can be fooled by practically any lie told to him.

Luffy has the power, and can bounce back from the worst of punishment, but can he survive this battle?

Super-Skrull, (or known as Kl’rt, in his native language), is an alien shape shifter and warrior, who was chosen by the Skrull Empire, to become a Super-Skrull, their version of a super-soldier, to combat the Fantastic Four. With genetic engineering and energy infusion, Kl’rt became the Super-Skrull, who had new powers beyond a typical Skrull. Super-Skrull had obtained a hypnotic gaze to force others to do his bidding, his shape shifting was powered up, and he was given the combined powers of the Fantastic Four. Super-Skrull could do anything they could and more. The Super Skrull could generate flames like the Human Torch, but Kl’rt could manifest fire in space. He had the strength, endurance, and rock like skin of the Thing, the stretching power of Mr. Fantastic, and invisibility and force fields of Invisible Woman. Combined with training in military tactics, the Super-Skrull was a force to be reckoned with. Although he has lost to the Fantastic Four many times, his accomplishments still shine through. Super-Skrull has defeated a small army of superior Super-Skrulls on his own, can combine the Fantastic Four powers in creative ways, has gone toe-to-toe with Thor, the Hulk, and the Silver Surfer, has absorbed the heat of a sun, lifted 100 tons, and easily destroy a building as an afterthought. However, the Super-Skrull does have weaknesses. For a long time, he was dependent on a power beam that gave him his powers, but that is no longer the case. Super-Skrull is vulnerable to his own powers, as he has hypnotized himself at a point. Super-Skrull can overload his powers, and is also still vulnerable to the elements like anyone else.

With the power of the Fantastic Four, Super-Skrull is able to take on anyone!

Why are they Fighting: Both Luffy and Kl’rt have a significant amount of power, and apply them in similar ways, now to see how they do!

Predicted Winner: Super-Skrull by a mile. Luffy has similar power, but is ultimately unable to combat Kl’rt’s power and tactics. Luffy may have smashed multiple powered foes, but Kl’rt is known to go toe-to-toe with stronger enemies, and his powers exploit all of Luffy’s weaknesses. Luffy is simply out of his weight class here.

1. Segata Sanshiro (Sega) vs. Yang Xiao Long (RWBY)

THE ULTIMATE BATTLE THE INTERNET IS WAITING FOR!!!

Our Fighters: Sega, in 1997, was facing the prospect that it could not keep up with sales of Sony and Nintendo. Sega’s future looked grim, until one day, a man came forth to save them. That man is Segata Sanshiro. He lives in the Japanese mountains training himself in serious gaming, playing the Sega Saturn. Segata spends his days training by running with a giant Sega Saturn on his back, and punching the giant buttons of a Sega Saturn controller. Segata spent the year from 1997 to 1998, beating up anyone, men, women, elderly, and children, who weren’t playing the Sega Saturn. Oddly enough, this tactic had worked, and for a time, Sega had actually surpassed the sales of Nintendo thanks to Segata. Segata had then taken a hiatus, and has only very recently begun appearing in games again. Segata has been compared to Chuck Norris, with about as much notoriety; Segata however has video footage of his feats, which include defeating an entire nightclub full of people in only three moves, multiplying and increasing in size, beating an Olympic speed skater in a race on ice in his bare feet, judo throwing a man so hard that the man exploded twice, breaking ten tiles with his head, getting hit by 90 mph fastballs in the chest with no discomfort, and most famously, redirecting a rocket from the Sega building (To add context here, Segata was propped against a window tile, the rocket was generating more than enough force to shatter the glass, To be able to redirect the rocket without breaking the glass, Segata would have had to defy physics to accomplish this) surviving 14 years in space, surviving reentry and still holding on to his Sega Saturn and the rocket after all that time! Segata has even battled Chuck Norris in Death Battle to a draw. Segata may have accomplished the impossible, but he still has shortcomings and weaknesses. Segata may have improved the Sega Saturn’s popularity and sales, but ultimately, he could not save it from being outdated by superior technology. Segata is also vulnerable to the undead, because no matter how many times one judo throws a zombie, they keep coming back.

Segata Sanshiro will live forever in our hearts!

Yang Xiao Long hails from Rooster Teeth’s RWBY (Which just started its fourth season. Go watch it!). Yang is a girl training to become a huntress; a warrior who defends humanity from the monsters called “Grimm”. Yang is a self-described thrill seeker, who lives for the next big adventure, and usually a fight. Yang looks after her friends and little sister, Ruby as they go to school at Beacon Academy, a school for Huntsmen and Huntresses, protecting others from Grimm and any criminals. Yang battles with a pair of Dual Ranged Shotgun Gauntlets called Ember Celica; these gauntlets allow Yang to fire shotgun rounds for ranged attacks, or cause her punches to explode upon contact, allowing for devastating combat options. Yang also relies on her Aura, energy all beings have, to protect her from harm, as well as her Semblance: a unique special ability all RWBY characters have. In Yang’s case, her Semblance, is the ability to take all the damage she has taken in a fight, and use it to increase her power dramatically, which allows her to accomplish superhuman feats, including, defeating an entire nightclub full of armed men, only needing to reload once. Other feats include knocking out a bear Grimm and knocking down trees with an explosive combo, increasing her strength in proportion to her rage, using the recoil of a shotgun blast to increase her speed and even keep her in mid-air, surviving an impact of being punched through a concrete pillar, surviving the impact of being knocked into orbit, and surviving the reentry and orbital impact. Yang’s superhuman durability and strength have seen her through more than her fair share of fights, even battling Tifa Lockhart on Death Battle. Yet, like all of our other contestants, Yang has notable weaknesses. Yang has a hard time battling against opponents whose fighting styles revolve around kicks. Her Semblance can only really work while she is conscious, and Yang is still vulnerable to being knocked out like anyone else.

Yang is a blonde bruiser, and a fantastic fighter!

Why are they Fighting: Segata and Yang are fighters who have accomplished seemingly impossible tasks; this fight is a fight that would possibly both figuratively, and literally break the Internet and possibly the universe!

Predicted Winner: Both fighters are powerful, and have great feats to back up their power, this fight is actually pretty close, and really could go either way. But ultimately this fight would fall to Segata’s favor. Yang’s Semblance and Aura, which would mitigate and return any damage Segata could deal, can only work while Yang is physically conscious, and even if that Semblance is working, she can still take damage. Combine that with the fact that Segata’s feats trump Yang’s and his fighting style is more versatile, Yang could be overcome (It could also be because Yang was not playing a Sega Saturn).

Come to think of it, neither am I…. Uh Oh….
