Bohemian Rhapsody Trailer: Rami Malek is ready to rock you as legendary Freddie Mercury in Queen biopic

I will admit that I was one of the many people who hopped aboard the outrage train when hearing that this film would be more about the band than Freddie Mercury, not mention Mercury’s bisexuality, and would completely shy away from the cause of his death. Little by little, this trailer proved each point wrong as even 20 seconds into it, they made to say that the film is “his story.” As the trailer continues, we see the media ask him about his sexuality and even get to see a few glimpses of intimate interactions with the same sex.

There are several scenes that hint at showing his deterioration and subsequent death from AIDS, which is such an important part that was previously said would not be a part of the film. Although I’m optimistic, I still remain slightly skeptical because trailers can easily be edited to give a false appearance to what the film is actually about. For now, I see a little silhouette of a Malek, and I can’t wait to experience Bohemain Rhapsody in full, which promises to be both a cinematic and concert experience.

Bohemian Rhapsody opens in theaters on November 2nd.
