NYCC 2012: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2

At the 2012 New York Comic Con, Andrea Romano and Bruce Timm, the voice director and producer of The Dark Knight Returns Part 2. Set to be released on January 29th, The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 features Peter Weller as Batman, Ariel Winter as Robin, David Selby as Commissioner Gordon, and Michael Emerson as the Joker.  Here’s what an official at the interview said:

We have three movies coming out: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2, which will be on in late January, early February.  An official announcement will be made in a few weeks which will give most of the cast. There are additional voice actors from part one, like Michael Emerson, Robin Atkin Downes as Green Arrow, Mark Valley as Superman, and Conan O’Brien is actually the talk show host, David Endocrine, that the Joker likes to toy with.

The second film, will come out somewhat later in that year, maybe June-ish, and it is called Superman: Unbound. It’s based on the 2000 Geoff Johns’ Superman/Brainiac story. So we’ll have casting on that later on.

The third film will come out in the second half of the year. When? I don’t know, but I’m fairly certain you’ll see us premiering it at next year’s comic con in San Diego.  It’s Justice League: Flashpoint, based on the Geeff Johns’ 2008 Flashpoint. And you’ve probably heard about that because Kevin Conroy slipped one day after a recording. I can’t give you cast but they’re all dynamic and wicked and amazing.

We also have a film called Lego Batman: DC Superheroes Unite, which is still related to DC but separate from the DC series. Lego Batman: The Movie, DC Superheroes Unite. This is not the theatrical version that’s coming out in a year in a half, but actually done by the same people who do Batman Lego videogames, and to tell you this- it’s probably the funniest superhero film I’ve ever recorded. Just laugh out loud all the way across the board, every minute of the day.

You can check out the trailer here for the film, and we’ll have an Andrea Romano/Bruce Timm interview coming up later.
