It has been reported that Saoirse Ronan (Lovely Bones, Atonement) is being cast as Itaril in the two-part Hobbit series. Here’s what she had to say about it:
“That’s not confirmed,” she said when I caught up with her yesterday at Culina restaurant at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. “I would love to do it. It would be great to go there, and if they ask me I would say yes.” Read more at E! Online.
Ronan worked previously with The Hobbit’s director, Peter Jackson, on The Lovely Bones. She’s currently promoting her latest movie, Hanna, which is coming out in a couple weeks. (And it looks really good; we posted the trailer below!) Going back to The Hobbit, we’re pretty confident that Ronan will get the role. It’s about time this movie starts production!
