Assassin’s Creed Movie Snags Writer

Michael-LesslieUbisoft’s new venture into the film industry has prompted the production of numerous video game adaptations. The Assassin’s Creed film that is currently in development has now recruited a writer into their brotherhood. Michael Lesslie, with little but a few plays to his name, is charged with penning the movie’s script. Earlier this winter, it was confirmed that acclaimed actor Michael Fassbender will be taking the leading role as the protagonist in the Assassin’s Creed film.  A director and producers are still looking to be found as Ubisoft continues to collaborate with New Regency.

Ubisoft seems very committed to retaining their creative rights in the film making process. Hopefully this will translate to a more cohesive and coherent story. Video game adaptations have a sour reputation that is fairly well deserved. Only time will tell if Ubisoft’s new approach will set a new standard for the rest of the video game industry.
