MTV Movie Awards 2011 Nominees Announced!

The MTV Movie Awards announced their 2011 nominees today. No surprise to see The Twilight Saga: Eclipse with 8 nominations, but will it sweep like it has at the previous two MTV Movie Awards? We’d like to think that the Twilight mania has calmed down, but we highly doubt it. Twi-hards will most likely being taking rigorous shifts in voting for their beloved Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart. We’re hoping for The Social Network to break through and  take home some golden popcorn. They lost Best Picture at the Oscars (we’re still grieving), it would be cool to see the cast come back together and snag some awards at this really fun event. Come on, they have to win BEST LINE IN A FILM, Justin Timberlake’s lines in it are practically iconic. And if Andrew Garfield wins Best Breakout Star, we would die of happiness. But we’d also be happy to see Hailee Steinfeld or Chloe Moretz take the prize home.

Another great movie nominated is Easy A. Emma Stone really showed off her comedic wit in this movie, and we’re rooting for her to win Best Female Performance. Yeah, Natalie Portman is also nominated in the category, but REMINDER: this is MTV, let’s pick someone fun and hopefully not from Twilight. lol (We’re not bashing Twilight, we love the movies; we just want to change things up a bit though.)

Harry Potter got away with several nominations. The Best Villain category is pretty weak in my opinion, but we think Harry Potter fans will come in and vote for Tom Felton again! He’s our favorite in the category. Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson are nominated for their performances. We’re hoping that Radcliffe or Eisenberg take the golden popcorn home for Best Male Performance.

Overall, we can’t wait to see who will win. Jason Sudeikis is hosting, and he’s pretty funny on Saturday Night Live. The 2011 MTV Movie Awards will air on Sunday, June 5th, at 9pm EST.
