SDCC: Legendary Pictures – ‘Pacific Rim,’ ‘The Seventh Son’ & ‘Paradise Lost’

Legendary Pictures hosted a panel in a smaller room at Comic Con, a third of the size of Hall H. It made for a slightly more intimate gathering. During the panel, Legendary showcased three of their upcoming films. The first was Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim. Along with del Toro was the cast, which included Charlie Hunnan, Idris Elba, Charlie Day and Travis Beacham. They debuted the Pacific Rim emblem, and del Toro shed some light on what the film will be about it. He said that it would involve big monsters and robots, and show how humans would really react to an invasion.

The next film presented was The Seventh Son, starring Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes and Alicia Vikander. They showed some concept art from the film. It looks pretty cool and epic. The cast alone is great; I’m looking forward to seeing more about this film.

The third film was Paradise Lost, starring Bradley Cooper and will be directed by Alex Proyas. The film is an adaptation of John Milton’s epic poem about the fall of Man. The poem centers on Satan as the antihero. Cooper will play Satan, in this action-heavy adaptation. Cooper talked about how he read Milton back in college and was very intrigued by Paradise Lost. Some cool concept art was shown at the panel; Paradise Lost seems like another epic story/film to look forward to in the future.
