Giveaway: Win ‘And While We Were Here’ starring Kate Bosworth on Blu-Ray!

And While We Were Here first caught my attention when I heard Jamie Blackley was staring it. The thing is that I’m a huge book nerd and absolutely love Gayle Forman’s books. One of my favorites of hers is If I Stay, which is now being made into a film and starring Mr. Blackley himself. So when I had the chance to review one of his few credits, I jumped at it. And While We Were Here looked to be the kind of artsy, interesting film that I would love.

Set off the Amalfi Coast in beautiful Italy, Jane (Kate Bosworth) is searching for something more from her life.  She loves her husband (Iddo Goldberg), but the silence between them is growing. Her work, writing her grandmother’s memoir (voiced by Claire Bloom), immerses her in the quiet beauty of the town, its islands … and finally, in the romantic embrace of a younger man (Jamie Blackley).  Jane must decide where her passions will take her, and who she really wants to be, as she documents the discoveries of And While We Were Here.

The Blu-Ray includes the original black and white Director’s Cut, which is quite a nice choice for a film like this. The setting and plot have a timeless feel to it and the black and white adds in some extra charm. As for Kate Bosworth, she’s radiant and this is probably the best I’ve ever seen her. Her screen presence is magnetic and when the plot and some of the character development falters, she manages to keep you captivated. Blackley is the opposite in how energetic and vitalizing he is. His character is careless and free wheeling. He’s young and ready to embrace whatever life throws at him. Blackley’s exuberance captures you in moments, but like his character, you can’t help but be so intrigued by Bosworth,
