Jason Bateman Debuts as a Director in ‘Bad Words’

Jason Bateman is known for a lot of things. From  Michael Bluth on ‘Arrested Development’ to Sandy Bigelow Patterson on last year’s ‘Identity Thief’. Well, this time around…he is taking a new role. Focus Features has released a trailer for Bateman’s feature directorial debut, the R-rated comedy ‘Bad Words’ where he also stars playing a 40-year-old man named Guy Trilby, who finds a loophole in the National Spelling Bee rules and enters the competition.

The film, also starring Allison Janney, Rachael Harris, Phillip Baker Hall, and Kathryn Hahn opened at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival , but it is now scheduled to have a limited release on March 21, 2014 before opening nationwide on March 28.
