The Signal is an upcoming thriller sci-fi film directed by William Eubanks shown earlier this year at Sundance. The film, being released by Focus Features, will hit theaters on June 13th and stars Laurence Fishburne, Brenton Thwaites, Olivia Cooke and Beau Knapp. The story focuses on 3 college students driving through Nevada and an interesting encounter. Plot:
“Three college students on a road trip across the Southwest experience a detour; the tracking of a computer genius who has already hacked into MIT and exposed security faults. The trio find themselves drawn to an eerily isolated area when suddenly, everything goes dark. When one of the students, Nic, regains consciousness, he is in a waking nightmare… “
Sci-Fi fans will be very happy with this one, as it was one of the favorites during the Sundance Film Festival back in January. The trailer doesn’t offer much info in the main plot, just snippets here and there of what to expect from the film, which will leave you wanting to find out more.
