First Look at Zach Braff’s “Wish I Was Here”

Remember all that time ago when Zach Braff went on Kickstarter asking for donations to make a new film? Yeah, neither do I. But it looks like he’s putting that money to good use because he just released a teaser trailer for the film, “Wish I Was Here.”

This film seems to be shrouded in mystery. First off, the comments are disabled on the YouTube video, and the trailer itself doesn’t seem to give much of a plot away. All it does give away is that Braff is still obsessed with The Shins. What  I got from it was: Braff’s character’s daughter seems to have cancer, and they’re picking out a wig for her. She picks out a purple wig that makes her look like Hit Girl from “Kickass,” and then it’s just a montage of random, but beautiful scenes with “Simple Song” playing in the background. From what Braff did with “Garden State” back in 2004, I think this film will turn out to be a decent indie hit. For a split second, Donald Faison can be seen in the trailer, so maybe we’ll get some bromance in the middle of this family drama. We’ll see when it hits theaters in July.
