It’s beginning to be that time of year, and I’m not talking about the holidays. Awards season kicked off with today’s Gotham Awards nominations. The Gotham Awards give recognition to independent film and nominate the best indies, along with breakout performers and directors.
It comes as no surprise that Boyhood leads with the most nominations; Ethan Hawke, Patricia Arquette, and Ellar Coltrane received acting nods. Other notable performances were honored, including Jenny Slate’s comedic, yet sincere work in Obvious Child. (In case you missed it, Obvious Child was our Women in Film pick last week.)
The Gotham Awards ceremony will take place on December 1.
