Film News: The Motion Picture Sound Editors Reveal 2012 Nominees

The Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) has announced their nominees for their 2012 awards, honoring the best in sound editing from 2011 in seven categories.

This category might not be that interesting when you think of more popular categories such as best actor, best film, best director etc but if you watch a lot of films like we do here at TYF, sound editing can make or break a film. Usually the best example of sound editing is when the sound is so flawlessly a part of the film that you don’t even think of it. Sound is synonymous with action films, but it doesn’t end there. Sound is as vital a part of every film as cinematography.

Check out the list of nominated films below and let us know which ones you thought best exemplified sound in film!
