After it was announced yesterday that Luke Evans (Dracula Untold) is also in talks to play Gaston in Disney’s upcoming live-action version of Beauty and the Beast, rumors started to swirl that Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) is in talks to play the Beast. Well, those rumors were confirmed early this morning by Emma Watson, who welcomed both actors to the cast via Twitter.

I don’t know about you guys, but I think this is shaping up to be a great cast. If his role in The Guest is any indication that Stevens can play an emotionally unstable character, then I’m convinced he’ll have no trouble playing the Beast (especially with those baby blues). Is it just me, or can anyone else easily picture Evans donning Gaston’s infamous red outfit?
