Star Wars: The Force Awakens News: Full-Length Trailer Is Here

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been actively staying far away from any and all potential spoilers of the newest Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  Luckily, the full length trailer refuses to divulge anything too revealing, all the while putting together a two and a half minute package that will surely (as Twitter indicates) be a breeding ground for enthusiasm.

Opening with what must be Lupita Nyong’o’s voice over, the trailer quickly launches us into the trailer, with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) being heard saying that he will “finish what he started” as we see a mangled image of Darth Vader’s helmet. Flashes of our characters sweep by us, including a nostalgia inducing one of Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Han (Harrison Ford) embracing. I dare any of you to claim that you didn’t get chills when the old John Williams theme kicked in about halfway in, because I’ll flat out call you liars. Directed by J.J. Abrams, who is seemingly getting the chance to be the creative mind behind his dream project, there’s a lot riding on this new adventure in familiar territory, but the trailer is at least some proof that the series is in capable and passionate hands.

More than anythng, and call blasphemy if you must if you’re a purist die hard, but I’m most excited for the new faces we’re getting with Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega) and Poe (Oscar Isaac), the last two being proven, engaging talents, and Ridley reportedly playing a major and crucial part of this ongoing part of the Star Wars saga.

With tickets officially on sale, and the release date growing ever closer (although December 18th still feels impossibly far away) it’s easy to say that the hype is real, and it’s hard not to join in on the excitement, whether you’re a new fan or old.

Check out the trailer below as well as some stills and let us know in the comments what part you’re the most excited for!
