First Trailer For The Huntsman: Winter’s War Promises Lots Of Sexy People Jumping In Slow Motion

Do you ever just sit around the house thinking “man, what was the back story of Tho- I mean, The Huntsman, in that Snow White movie from three years ago?” No? Me either. However, if you do, your wishes have been granted. The Huntsman: Winter’s War is a prequel of sorts to Snow White and The Huntsman meaning not only do we get the return of Chris Hemsworth as the ax swinging action hero, but also the glorious over-acting of Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen. Bless her heart, she’s really trying. Jessica Chastain and Emily Blunt also join in the fun as Sara The Warrior and The Ice Queen respectively, despite both probably being offered some much better movies than this.

I’m being a bit harsh…this looks fun. In a kind of “watch it in your underwear on the sci-fi channel on a Sunday afternoon kind of way.” There’s a lot of over the top action and crazy visuals going on here. Some of them even look pretty good, capturing the dark story-book feel that the first one had in spades. There’s also no way to go wrong with Chris Hemsworth, who’s one of the most charismatic action stars working today, and there must have been at least something to this script to attract such a talented cast. Or perhaps they just wanted to wear some armor and pretend they were in The Matrix for a little while. Also, this one isn’t even trying to be a Snow White movie, which I’m both surprised about, and frankly, admire.

The Huntsman: Winter’s War opens on April 22nd
