Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox and Judd Hirsch are back this June to save our planet once again. Twentieth Century Fox just revealed a new and action-packed trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence that puts Roland Emmerich back in the director’s chair and will also have some new faces including Liam Hemsworth, Maika, Monroe, Joey King, Charlotte Gainsbourg, William Fichtner and Jessie Usher.
This sequel transports us exactly 20 years after the first alien attack. Here’s the official film synopsis:
“Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.“
Just like its antecessor released in December, this trailer is full of battles, destruction and aliens ready for their revenge against planet Earth and humans. “We got to remind them Earth is not for the taking” says Dylan Hiller (Usher), son of late Col. Steven Hiller (Will Smith’s character in the first film). I would like to say that I enjoy watching Roland Emmerich films from time to time, I just hope this film doesn’t go over-the-top as some of his other projects.
