Greetings and welcome to yet another episode of Directors of Cinema. If you’re unfamiliar with our podcast, this is a show dedicated to the discussion of selected works of prominent filmmakers. Each week, host Matt Goudreau and guest talk about a particular director chosen by the co-host.
On this episode, Matt is joined by Alex C. and Sean N., podcast hosts of Sabers, Phasers & Lasers Oh My! Given their show is focused on the happenings in the world of sci-fi/fantasy, the director they choose is somewhat in line with the genre. While the director in discussion, Brad Bird, has dabbled in sci-fi a few times, he’s not entirely a director who’s easy to pin down into a certain genre. Bird’s first few films were all animated before he made his live action debut with the fourth installment in the Mission Impossible franchise. With his newest film Tomorrowland sparking plenty of debates already, don’t expect anything different here.
