Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn Star in Action Comedy Snatched

Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn star in Snatched, a forthcoming film which looks equal parts mother-daughter bonding flick and, as Schumer aptly puts it in the trailer, “Liam Neeson Taken.  The movie is directed by Jonathan Levine, known for 2013’s zombie novel adaptation Warm Bodies, and is written not by Schumer, but by Parks and Recreation contributor Katie Dippold.

After the wild success of Trainwreck in 2015, it is no surprise Amy Schumer has a full roster of upcoming films.  She is rumored to be starring as an iconic doll in the Barbie movie, cowrote and will star in a sister comedy with Jennifer Lawrence, and will act in forthcoming films Who Invited Her?, and Thank You For Your Service.  Hawn on the other hand seems to be using Snatched, to come back after a hiatus, with her last film appearance occurring almost fifteen years ago.  The casting of the two actresses is spot on as they make a believable mother-daughter pair sharing both their blonde hair, and knack for comedy.

The movie follows the pair as they connect over a trip to South America and the henceforth unexplained kidnapping that results. A release date has been set for May 2017, so Schumer fans have plenty to look forward in the coming year.
