New Trailer: Ryan Gosling & Harrison Ford team up for Blade Runner 2049

Fans of Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner were skeptical when a sequel to the science fiction classic was announced a few years ago. However, does that doubt remain after this impressive first announcement trailer for Blade Runner 2049?

Fresh off one of the year’s best films, Arrival, director Denis Villeneuve brings us back to the world of Blade Runner with original leading man, Harrison Ford, joining Ryan Gosling for a new and hopefully thrilling story. The official synopsis explains, “Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.”

Scott returns as an executive producer, and the rest of the cast includes Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, with Dave Bautista and Jared Leto. After watching the trailer above, are you excited for the new Blade Runner sequel?

BLADE RUNNER 2049 will open in 3D and 2D in select theaters and IMAX on October 6.
