Looks like biblical themed films are getting stronger this year. Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods and Kings has released a trailer and it had everything a Ridley Scott film should have: epicness.
The film – starring Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton, Sigourney Weaver, Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, and John Turturro – tells the known story of Moses and Ramses, two leaders who grew up together but were forced to fight against each other by their personal beliefs. If you are familiar with the Old Testament Book of Exodus, saw 1956’s The Ten Commandments or DreamWorks animated film The Prince of Egypt from 1998, you might know what to expect from this new take on the story. Nevertheless, Mr. Scott never ceases to surprises us. The trailer shows lots of battles and near the end…a great shot of part of the partition of the Red Sea.
The movie is scheduled to hit theaters December 12, 2014. I just hope it’s better that The Counselor or Robin Hood. Seriously.
