It would seem that after the drama that ensued over the upcoming Steve Jobs, and what would appear to be a hellish development period, that surprisingly things seem to be looking positive. The new trailer looks promising, and with the cast they’ve lined up, it’s certainly worth keeping an eye out for.
Aaron Sorkin has tried my patience as of late after The Newsroom, however, as The Social Network would demonstrate, he knows how to write for film, and anything Danny Boyle is connected to instantly has my interest.
Despite being a fan of Michael Fassbender (and really, how can’t you), I’m mostly curious about Seth Rogen’s role in this. Rogen is obviously well known for his comedies, and while he’s dabbled in dramatic territory before with 50/50, that was mostly a comedic relief type of role–will this be in a similar vein or a departure? I guess we’ll have to wait and see until October 9th.

Michael Fassbender plays Steve Jobs, the pioneering founder of Apple, with Academy Award®-winning actress Kate Winslet starring as Joanna Hoffman, former marketing chief of Macintosh. Steve Wozniak, who co-founded Apple, is played by Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels stars as former Apple CEO John Sculley. The film also stars Katherine Waterston as Chrisann Brennan, Jobs’ ex girlfriend, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original members of the Apple Macintosh development team.
