Interview: Clifton Collins Jr. Talks ‘Triple 9’

In the new movie, Triple 9, we see a faulty police system at play. Corrupt cops, along with ex-Special Forces, attempt to pull off a nearly impossible heist for mob boss, Irina Vlaslov (Kate Winslet). What at first seems like a hopeless situation, their chances at succeeding become significantly greater with the suggestion of three numbers: 999. Triple 9, which is cop code for “officer down,” is the only means that will distract an entire city’s force in order for them to execute the heist.

Clifton Collins Jr. plays a pivotal part as one of the dirty cops. Throughout the film, he weaves his way through the law to perfectly execute the robberies. Below, he talks about his preparation for this specific role, what he hopes audiences take away from the movie’s overall message, and what it was like working with the rest of the star-studded cast, including Casey Affleck, Anthony Mackie, Norman Reedus and Aaron Paul.

Stay tuned for our review of the film coming soon to a web page near you.
