Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Alan Arkin are Going In Style

What is it about bank heist films that attract us so much? Is it seeing a group of people planning and choreographing the perfect robbery? The crazy characters? Or is it the camaraderie and group skills these people have? Whatever it is, I enjoy watching them every time.

Warner Bros. released just a few days ago the trailer for Going In Style, the upcoming heist comedy directed by Zack Braff and starring Oscar winners Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Alan Arkin. The film, a remake of the 1979 movie of the same name, tells the story of pals Willie, Joe, and Al, who decide to risk it all and rob a bank for the sake of getting back the money it stole from them.

I know, I know. The plot per se is nothing out of the ordinary. We’ve all seen it before. But, even though we all know how this film ends (or at least have a very clear idea of the ending), these heist films always entertain us for one main reason: showing us how characters got the pot of gold at the end.  Three old men trying to learn the ropes on how to behave like criminals and dealing with technology might be fun to watch. Of course, I’ve been wrong before and as always, you are all welcome to rub my face with it later. :)

Going in Style, written by Theodore Melfi and co-starring Ann-Margret, Joey King, Matt Dillon, Christopher Lloyd, John Ortiz, Peter Serafinowicz, and Kenan Thompson is scheduled to open on April 7, 2017. Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments!
