Watch: First Trailer for ‘Parkland’ with Zac Efron and Billy Bob Thornton

The film industry is about to give us another history lesson. PARKLAND, directed by Peter Landesman, follows the events occurred at the Parkland Memorial Hospital after the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963.

According to the film’s website, PARKLAND “weaves together the perspectives of a handful of ordinary individuals suddenly thrust into extraordinary circumstances: the young doctors and nurses at Parkland Hospital; Dallas’ chief of the Secret Service; an unwitting cameraman who captured what became the most watched and examined film in history; the FBI agents who nearly had the gunman within their grasp; the brother of Lee Harvey Oswald, left to deal with his shattered family; and JFK’s security team, witnesses to both the president’s death and Vice President Lyndon Johnson’s rise to power over a nation whose innocence was forever altered”.

Even though the trailer is not very good at keeping the mystery alive, it looks like it’s going to be a good film. What are your thoughts about it?

Based on the book “Four Days In November,” by renowned author and former prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi, the film brings the talents of Paul Giamatti, Marcia Gay Harden, Billy Bob Thornton, Zac Efron, Jackie Earle Haley, Tom Welling, Gil Bellows, James Badge Dale, Mark Duplass, Jacki Weaver, Rory Cochrane, Ron Livingston, and Colin Hanks.

It is scheduled to open on September 20, 2013 and be part of the 70th Venice International Film Festival and at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.
