Slowdive have announced their first album since 1995’s Pygmalion will be released this spring.
The British shoegazing band’s self-titled fourth album will be released through indie label Dead Oceans on May 5. The album follows nearly two years of well-received tours and festival appearances since their reunion in 2014.
“Star Roving”, a single that the band had released through Dead Oceans in January, will appear on the album along with seven other tracks they recorded at the Courtyard studio in Oxfordshire, England last year.
The band has also shared the video for album’s second single, “Sugar for the Pill”, which can viewed below. The song can be purchased from the band’s Bandcamp page. The album can also be pre-ordered through their Bandcamp on CD, LP, cassette and digital download.
The news of a new Slowdive album comes one week after follow 90’s shoegazing act Ride announced that their first album in 22 years would be released this summer.
Slowdive will tour the United States in promotion of the album this summer. The dates were announced in January, and some of them have already sold out.
