TYF’s Canada Day playlist for Canada 150

Today, July 1, is Canada Day, in the country celebrates the enactment of the Constitution Act of 1867. The act united the provinces of Canada, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia into a single Canada, and is an important milestone in the move towards Canadian independence from Britain.

To celebrate both Canada Day, and its 150th anniversary being celebrating in the country this year in the Canada 150 festivities, The Young Folks has put together a Spotify playlist of 150 songs by Canadian artists. The songs were selected by our music editor, with suggestions from Canadian members of our staff. The artists featured range from global superstars like Drake, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Rush and Neil Young, to legends in the country itself, including Blue Rodeo, Stan Rogers, Great Big Sea and The Tragically Hip (with 13 songs, they are the most represented artist in the playlist).
