This is Pop? Podcast Episode 10: Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber has been a household name since he released his debut single “One Time” in 2009. Starting out as a teen heart-throb famous for his hair fringe and bubblegum pop singles, he’s since transitioned into a major star in his young adulthood. Over the past two years, he’s had three straight #1 singles as a lead artist (“What Do You Mean?”, “Sorry” and “Love Yourself”) and a further two as a featured performer (“I’m the One” with DJ Khaled, Chance the Rapper and Quavo and “Despacito” with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee). Just a few days ago, Bieber canceled a portion of his world tour, citing his “soul and well being” for his reasoning.

For the tenth episode of our music podcast This is Pop? , I was joined by The Young Folks staff writer Camille Espiritu  to discuss Bieber’s career so far, his rise to popularity and his uncanny talents as a tastemaker.
