‘World Gone Mad’, Bastille’s New Post-Apocalyptic Video

British indie pop group Bastille is back! The authors of the hit song “Pompeii” will be featured in the soundtrack of Bright, the upcoming Netflix film starring Will Smith, Joel Edgerton, Noomi Rapace and Edgar Ramirez.

To promote the film, the band released the video for “World Gone Mad” a few days ago, lead single that introduces us to the post-apocalyptic world of the film. With lyrics that reflect on current world events, the mellow pop song carries a powerful message. “Things socially, politically can feel increasingly bizarre on so many levels,” said frontman Dan Smith in a recent Rolling Stone interview. “It speaks to this fictional world as much as it does to real life.

Having released their second album, Wild World, last year, the band is currently giving the final touches to their third studio album. Smith explained in a recent interview with Zane Lowe that the project will be much more intimate. “I want our next record – it’s going to be a much more intimate probably slightly more inward looking and fun record. It’s like an apocalyptic party record is what I’ve been calling it.”

The Bright soundtrack will also feature songs by Sam Hunt, alt-J, Portugal, Camilla Cabello & Grey, Migos & Marshmello, among others. Directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad), the film will premier on Netflix on December 22nd and the soundtrack will be available on the 13th.
