Nine Inch Nails release new single “God Break Down the Door”

Iconic industrial project Nine Inch Nails have released the first single from their upcoming ninth album

“God Break Down the Door” is taken from Bad Witch, which will be released on June 22 on leader Trent Reznor’s Null Corporation label. The album follows two EPs – Not the Actual Events and Add Violence that were released in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Bad Witch is also the first full-length album the band has issued with Atticus Ross as an official member. Ross, the British musician and composer who has been Reznor’s regular musical partner since 2000, is the first official, full member of the band aside from Reznor since the band’s formation in 1988. Ross and Reznor won an Academy Award for Best Original Score in 2009 for their work on David Fincher’s The Social Network.

To promote the album, Nine Inch Nails will embark on the Cold And Black And Infinite Tour this summer, double-headlining bill with fellow alt-rock veterans The Jesus and Mary Chain.  On their website, NIN announced that pre-sale tickets for the shows will be available only in a “physical pre-sale” that requires fans to travel to the venue of their choice to purchase tickets on May 19.

“The promise of a world made better by computers and online connectivity has failed us in many ways, particularly when it comes to ticketing,” a statement on their website reads. “Everything about the process sucks and everyone loses except the reseller. We’ve decided to try something different that will also likely suck, but in a different way.”

The band’s entire statement, as well as dates for the Cold And Black And Infinite Tour, are available here.
