Your quick guide to Outside Lands 2019

Today kicks off day one of the annual Outside Lands Music Festival held inside San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Whether you’re heading out for just one-day or getting ready for a weekend full of music, food and good company, here’s your quick guide to this year’s festival that you might want to remember for later.

It’s not just music…

There’s comedy too! San Francisco is home to the other annual festival Clusterfest so it’s only right they continue this theme with The Barbary featuring comedy & variety of acts. Catch us trying to sneak a seat to Jimmy O. Yang and Dulcé Sloan’s slots.

Food is everything

Magic will literally be happening at GastroMagic. Started in 2014, the GastroMagic stage features culinary personalities teaming up with several names on the lineup for IRL segments you don’t want to miss. One year, Action Bronson was having the time of his life throwing random pieces of food to the audience. You never know what you’re going to get. Catch the lineup all day Saturday where Bon Appétit will be hosting all day with appearances by CupcakKe and Ella Mai

You probably heard about this one…

For the first time ever, OSL will allow on-site marijuana sales and consumption to attendees 21 and over. Make your way to Grass Lands though, that’s the only area you can do it at. Inside the area, stop by The Confectionery by KIVA where you’ll learn everything about your favorite edibles to the Grass Lands Stage powered by Flow Kana where you’ll have a chance to check out demos, conversations, and even music performances!

Take in the art

As you walk around the festival, it’s hard not to avoid any mural or sculptures everywhere you go. Outside Lands takes pride in displaying local artists’ work for you to check out and probably score the perfect Instaworhty post. But while you do that, don’t forget to stop by one of the few live paintings that’ll be happening and appreciate their work!

Acts you can’t miss

Of course, we can’t end this without giving you the 411 on some of the smaller acts we have on our must-see lists. We’ll definitely be there for Childish Gambino, Paul Simon, Kacey Musgraves, blink-182, Leon Bridges and more. But in your downtime, keep your eyes and ears peeled for Tierra Whack, Cherry Glazerr, PJ Morton, Alex Lahey, and Brasstracks. OSL has a tendency to spotlight up-and-coming acts so get to their set before you miss out and regret it later.
