Music News: Listen to Frank Ocean’s “WiseMan” from “Django Unchained”

A couple of weeks ago, Quentin Tarantino, the director of the film Django Unchained which will be released on December 25th, said on an interview with GQ that Frank Ocean wrote a song for the film but unfortunately this one did not make the cut.

Frank Ocean wrote a fantastic ballad that was truly lovely and poetic in every way, there just wasn’t a scene for it. I could have thrown it in quickly just to have it, but that’s not why he wrote it and not his intention. So I didn’t want to cheapen his effort. But, the song is fantastic, and when Frank decides to unleash it on the public, they’ll realize it then.”

However, yesterday, Frank Ocean posted on his Twitter a link to his Tumblr account with the song “WiseMan“, which could have been on the soundtrack and also posted the lyrics.

Tarantino might have his reasons of course why the song simply couldn’t fit within the film, but it needs to be said that it is beyond beautiful, and it has been on repeat ever since it’s release. Another statement why I believe Frank Ocean is one of the, if not THE best breakout singer of 2012 and why he deserves a Grammy.
