Music review: Big Sean is “Finally Famous” with his debut album

8/10

G.O.O.D Music’s Big Sean is finally famous, and his long awaited album is finally here.

The first time I heard of Big Sean was when my friend posted a link on Facebook of the song “Made” featuring Drake from his mixtape Finally Famous Vol. 3. From that video, I looked up some of his songs from that mixtape, liked his style and you could tell from then that the guy had talent. Fast forward to now, Big Sean just released his debut album, Finally Famous, under Kanye West’s label G.O.O.D Music and if back then I thought he is talented, this album just confirms it.

If you like hip-hop you’ll like Finally Famous. Is it something out of the ordinary that we’ve never heard of before? No, but its Big Sean’s charisma and promptness in his rhymes that make him unique and make Finally Famous a great album. Some of you probably have heard his hit single “My Last” featuring Chris Brown on the radio,  Finally Famous is THE summer’s hip hop album. With tracks produced by NO I.D and Kanye West, you know the album will be worth your money, and that Big Sean in a couple of years will be recognized as one of the big names in Hip-Hop.  Other artists are featured in the album as well, such as Roscoe Dash, Lupe Fiasco, John Legend, Dwele, Chiddy Bang, Wiz Khalifa, The Dream and Kanye West, Big Sean is on his way to greatness and by having so many artists join him on the songs and showing him support, you know that all he needed was a shot at fame on mainstream music, and this was the result.

Some of my favorite songs are “My Last”, “Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay”, “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me” and “Celebrity”
