Jay-Z will be releasing his upcoming solo album titled Magna Carta Holy Grail on July 4th.
The news about the album broke out during a commercial break on Game 5 of the NBA Finals. During the 3 minute commercial, Jay-Z is at the studio (and you can actually listen to samples of the album) with producers Pharrell, Timbaland, Rick Rubin and Swizz Beatz.
Jay-Z has teamed up with Samsung to release the Magna Carta app, available on June 24th, offering “unprecedented inside look into the album, personal stories and inspiration”. Now here’s some revolutionary marketing: on July 4th, 72 hours before its release, the album will be available for the first 1 million users exclusively through the app. If you think about it, since Samsung bought the 1st 1 million copies…the album is already Platinum!
