Music News: Panic! at the Disco Releases Album Art and Track Listing for Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die!

Panic! at the Disco released the artwork and track listing for their upcoming fourth album, Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! “in all its sexy glory” through their tumblr and twitter this morning. The title treatment and black/white scheme on this follow up to 2011’s Vices & Virtues give it a vintage look, the only splash of color appearing in the smoke of lead singer Brendon Urie’s cigarette. The rest of the band—drummer Spencer Smith and bass player Dallon Weekes—are absent from the cover, but could be revealed on the back or inside artwork. Regardless, this is one classy lookin’ album cover.

Panic! also released the second single and music video from Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! earlier this week. “This is Gospel” is a fairly intense song, with several allusions to being trapped and the dangerous nature of words. The video reflects this perfectly, with lead singer Brendon Urie attempting escape from surgery, drowning, and being bound by ropes. Check out the video below:

Call me old fashioned, but I feel like ten songs is slightly on the short side for an album. I’m hoping that there will be a few bonus tracks for this one—I’m not a huge fan of the whole bonus track concept (why can’t they just be on the CD if they’re completely new songs?) but judging by both “Miss Jackson” and “This is Gospel” I’m going to want as many songs as I can get! The music greed, I have it. Luckily there won’t be too long of a wait for more new tunes from Panic!–Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! will be available worldwide October 8^th!
